Bayonets for Classic Head?
I hate to start this thread, but it is getting quite ridiculous. I am just at my wits end, this is not a bash JM thread. I just want this problem to be fixed.
I contacted JM in July of last year to inquire about the QD bayonet couplers for the Classic head that a few guys on the forum have. I was told a few weeks. I called a few weeks after that and told they are just a little behind, so I gave it a few months. I was told a few months now, no longer a few weeks. I even contacted Kevin on the forum, he told me he would check on it and get right back to me. I got nothing. I just contacted Trish at JM about a month ago now and was told the same thing. I have heard nothing.
I may sell my Hammerhead because of how I have been treated/ignored. I have no way to connect the CL hoses to the head and have been waiting for over 6 months for these things. I am hoping that this thread will light a fire under someone's butt to actually do something. If not, I will no longer tell people how great the Hammerhead is or ever buy another JM product.
Jakub has been nothing but helpful, so please don't think I am lumping him with this thread.

HH Extending Truck Stand
I picked up a new ride and decided to junk my wooded truck stand. Howdy Bailey made this one up out of SS and 1/4" alum. It has a drip pan that is raised off the floor enough for air to circulate under it and a SS sliding mechanism that lets me extend the Rebreather out to facilitate getting dressed and servicing the unit. The whole thing comes out with the removal of 4 bolts. You know I'm a happy camper.:-)

New HH Diver Forged!
Yet another diver has survived the warm waters of the Crater to become a certified HammerHead diver. Congrats to John Scoles on his crossover, completed yesterday. John came to me with extensive deep CCR wreck diving experience, and it showed. He is now armed and dangerous with his HH, I think we will see him doing some impressive dives in the future. It was great diving with you, John. I look forward to coming out and diving some wrecks!

hh extreme leak on head
Hi guys.
i have a problem on 2 heads of the extremes.
If you use a call kit on the head, in other words we take the head out of the unit, put the call kit on the bottom and corresponding top holes and start the gasflow, I get major leaking form the channels that the solenoid wire runs through, and i mean major leak. You cannot hold a vacuum or a positive on the head. There is no gland or epoxy on the solonoid wire. The hole the wire runs through is completely open and causes major breakthrough. Does anyone have the same problem or can anyone tell me rather urgently what is supposed to be in the hole or channel.?

question from new user
Hi,
Just picked up a used HH with dual rev.d. Taking cross over class in three weeks. I have ten days to check the unit out or return it. I powered up the electronics to see if they both work. I installed new AA 1.5v batt. Primary powered up, secondary starts to power up but then shuts down? Is it user error or unit?
Thanks!
John

Hammerhead has arrived in Norway
I would like to take this opportunity to announce the addition of 3 new Hammerhead divers from Norway to the ever growing Hammerhead family after completing their ANDI Rebreather Diver Level 2 training this week.
Please allow me to welcome Jan Arild Aaserud and Hans Petter Holthe who are moving away from PSCRs and Lars-Fredrik Moe-Helgesen who crossed over from Inspiration. All 3 of them are accomplished wreck and cave divers.
It was slightly chilly at times, but nevertheless the guys have taken it like a fish to water and it was extremely enjoyable to work with such experienced divers.
Well done guys! I am sure they will be here soon to tell us more as they are long standing members of this forum as well.
Do not forget to Contact us if you are interested in trying the Hammerhead CCR or training on it!

283 meters (928.5 feet) on DualRebreateher in Dahab, Egypt.
283 meters (928.5 feet) on DualRebreateher in Dahab, Egypt.
November traditionally is a month when we are training deep dives. This time main reason is to prepare team and equipment for winter exploration of Hranicka Propast in Chech Republic.
Last deep dive there I completed in 2000 reaching 180 meters on OC and I discovered huge further explorations possibilities. Just not on OCJ. This cave easily can surpass 300 meters and such depth presents new challenges for our team and equipment. Fortunately last few weeks spend in Egypt was able to prove that my DualRebreather is ready and several deep dives trained our team to work as one cohesive unit. Now we have somewhat clearer picture what can be expected on depths below 250 meters.
Egypt is excellent training ground for deep diving. Warm Read Sea waters with easy access to deep sites (shore diving with no need to charter boats); friendly Planet Divers Dahab providing tanks, gases and logistics. In short: all we need to succeed.
Day after day we were performing deeper and deeper dives. Any free time we were spending training emergency procedures. Finally on November 2nd last dive to depth of 283 meters (928.5 feet) with total run time of 9 hours.
All dives were completed in Blue Hole, every time I was swimming there from The Bells on 100 meter depth using scooter lend by Polish divers from Olsztyn; thank you my friends!
More details and video from this dive will be available soon on Krzysztof Starnawski
Team:
Krzysztof Starnawski - diver, Dual Rebreather HammerHead,
Irena Stangierska - photo and support, sidemount Eques,
Marek Klyta - support, rebreather Hammerhead,
Grzegorz Rutkowski - support, rebreather HammerHead,
I would like also say thanks to Wiesiek Zahor who joined us on last day and provided topside support for our team.

The Calibration Game
Hello everyone, I'm having a little trouble calibrating my new machine, any help much appreciated.
My new extreme with Rev-D arrived last week. The extreme head, handsets and DIVA are the best pieces of diving gear I have ever laid my hands on.
I have a full set of fresh Maxtec 305's installed. At 845 millibar, 24'C and around 1400 meters altitude I get the following readings from the cells (in millivolt and in Air):
- 8.3, 8.8, 8.5 (Off a millivolt meter in air)
- 8.4, 9.1, 8.7 (off the Narked@90 cell checker in air)
- 7.8, 8.35,8.0 (off the Rev-D diagnostics menu)
I guess the readings are in the lower end of the spec due to altitude (spec is 8 - 12 I think), but in spec anyway.
Also not sure why the Rev-D diagnostics menu give readings so much lower than the others, possibly a little more resistance on the HH mV reader as the handsets are pretty far away.
If I test the cells in O2 without pressurizing I get the following results:
- 38.60, 41.60, 40.00 (Narked@90 cel checker vented with O2)
- 36.85, 39.75, 37.85 (Rev-D diagnostics menu, flushed with O2 using the calibration kit)
If i pressurize the cell checker to 1 ATA, I get 46.4,50.1 and 48.1 off 02. So the cells are pretty solid I think.
Any calibration attempt results in 'Calibration Failed'. Reading the HH Rev C manual I see older units fail a calibration if any cell reads below 40 mV. No manuals on the Rev-D's yet but I assume it's the same.
My instructor has built a pressure pot that attaches to the head so he can up the pressure in the head to sea level and then calibrate without the unit failing on the 40mV rule. I guess i will have to do something similar before I can dive the unit, but he has the older HH and the connections may not fit.
He's out of the country so I can't find out if it will work before the course starts, and if it doesn't we probably won't be able to do the course.
So I was wondering what other HH users are doing to calibrate their machines at altitude?

Can someone tell me what their HH weighs, less bottles for travel!
Thanks!

Silent Thrill and Hammerhead at Baltictech 2011
Once again we are proud to have attended this year's Baltictech 2011. The conference was a huge success with the fantastic speaker line up and top prices which generated enormous interest among the technical diving community in the Baltics and beyond.
Hammerhead proved to be very popular and our stand was even busier than last year. The Hammerhead Rev D was shown for the first time.
We are looking forward to the next one. See you there! More about Baltictech here.

1st Gen HH Can
Does anyone know where I can find a 1st generation/original run Hammerhead Can?
I know it is slightly longer than the current generation ones and I need it for that specific reason. I am sorry for posting this here, but I have been unable to find one.

Hey to all,
I would like to congratulate Tymek Podgórczyk from Poland for successfully completing his IANTD CCR training. We had a great time and the water was warmer that the air J Nice to see a pSCR diver very happy with eCCR. Welcome on board.
Take care!

Hammerhead at DEMA 2011
Just a heads up to say big thanks to Trish, Charlie and Kevin from Juergensen Marine for having me on the stand, but more importantly to all that have come over to our booth to meet us and the Hammerhead!
DEMA might have been slower this year, but Juergensen Marine booth has never been busier with Jakub's sidemount Flex rig, Rev D, new Hobo scrubbers with matching cans and heads as well as the latest upgrades for Inspiration and Optima on the display.
More photos on our websites.

Bs-o-meter
On the C+ handsets, I have a differance in hours between the primary and secondary, I am curious about how many others have a differance, and how great is the differance.
Thanks

Switch from Classic Inspo with HH to ...
Hi Im owning a Classic Inspo with HH (rev B) head.
The HH is defect and back for repair.
Now Kevin Offers a upgrade to new Rev D.
I only don't won't to continue my diving adventures with the Inspo, I'm looking for a more open config like a JJ of HH CCR with backmounted CL.
I do like the HH and the flexible modeling and open structure added with Gollom parts to build the unit to own needs, I regreat the not CE certification and limited support in Europe.
JJ has CE only is limited in flexability and does not have the HH head .
Any one any comments that can help me make the correct desision.
Any one experiance with BMC CL on HH unit?
Thx

I received my new Extreme Head & Rev Ds in time for a Sept. cave trip (thanks for the rush, guys), but found the DIVA leaked during the 1st dive. I spoke with Kevin and he told me that this just doesn't happen as every unit is pressure tested before it goes out the door. Still, somehow the clear cover on mine had come loose. Kevin walked me thru what I could do until I returned it.
JM got it in for service on 10/13 (would have been sooner but had a dive) and it showed up today (10/28). That's pretty good service, considering how busy they are at JM with the new HH inventory coming in, all the new HH stuff going out + trade-in stuff coming back + their regular repairs and operations.
Trish called me at least 3 times, sent several emails, and got it back in time for next's week cave trip. On top of all of that, they covered everything under the warranty (didnt know RBs came with them), including return shipping. Oh, Trish also called to see if my trip to FL required her sending it overnight, which it didn't. That's pretty super customer service, IMO.
Probably no surprise for those of you who know and deal with JM. Just was too impressed not to say thanks. :-)
